Eating in Sliema

At the Strand and along the promenade there are many restaurants as well as cafeterias to choose from, from Italian restaurants to Maltese restaurants and local Cafes.
Walk along Sliema Promenade

The Sliema promenade starts from The Strand and on to Balluta Church. An ideal paved path for walking and jogging but at certain times can be crowded especially in the evenings of the weekend. The promenade on summer evenings becomes a social meeting place for the locals.
Swimming in Sliema
There are various swimming zones around Sliema starting with Tigne a rocky beach, overlooking the view of Valletta just opposite. Qui-si-sana is another rocky beach having a natural pool, but one must be careful when the sea is rough as there are undercurrents further out. Further on there is another place called Surfside, a series of man-made pools cut into the rock for the purpose of stopping waves so the pool is always calm. Past the Tower De Redin is another swimming zone called Exiles where there is a waterpolo club and further in the beach leads to a sandy beach.
De Redin Tower
This is one of the coastal De Redin watch towers that was built in the 17th century still standing to this day in very good condition. Today the tower forms part of a restaurant.
